As we see on the map above, Air Force One Cafe/Restaurant is on the northeastern corner of TSA. Since there is no convinient bus route or MRT available to go there, taking a ride by taxi or driving your car/riding your motorbike is highly recommended.

Once you arrive there, you will see balcony on the left side and indoor restaurant on the right side. It's necessary that you order a drink or a sandwich or so, because a minimum consumption (a bottle of cola=NT$80) is required.

Too expensive ??? I don't think so. You pay a small amount of money--as ticket price--to earn the right to sit there, enjoying the view, seeing planes taking off and landing or even taking photos all the day (its business hour is from 1000 hour to 2200 hour). What a cheap way it is !!!

All right....you order a cup of drink and go to balcony then get your camera ready !!!

A C-130 taxiing in front of airforce's SongShan Base HQ buildings

Why is this cafe/restaurant named as "Air Force One"? Look at the photos above. An airforce C-130 cargo plane was landing (with Runway 28). In the background is the hangar of presidential plane, nickname Air Force One. Then you can see buildings of SongShan Airforce Base HQ. There are always some military helicopters, VIP planes and C-130s parking around HQ. One day I spent a lot of time, aiming my camera at them, minites later a military humvee stop beside TSA's fence, just a few meters from where I stood, and shouting "Gentleman...sir...stop taking pictures here, it's illegal." I walked away for a while and those soldiers drove away. But, you know, not a long time later I was back to where I stood and kept taking photos.

For foreigners or people from other domestic cities visiting Taipei, skyscrapers like 101 is one of the must sees. You can have clear view of 101 from this cafe/restaurant's balcony. Love to see sunset ??? This balcony is one of the best places in Taipei City.

For aviation-crazy people like me, this cafe/restaurant is not only a perfect place to take photos of planes, but also a nice treasure mine to find aviation-related goods you'd like to buy.

Key rings, badges with devil felt, books, magazines, caps, stickers, T-shirts, towels.....you can find many goods here. Of course, you should have enough money in your pockets.

There are some "antiques" on display in this store, including models and pilots' helmets. I don't they are for sale or not.
